The main objective of this project is the development of an expert system for the diagnosis and personalised treatment of cancer patients that allows the disease to be modelled, selecting, planning, and applying a personalised treatment for each patient. This thereby facilitates the dynamic evaluation of the therapy, the optimisation of results, and improvement in the quality of care, as well as the use of health system resources. The aim is to develop a series of diagnostic tests to enable the integrated and individualised analysis of each case.
In this prototype, a complex multimodal database correlates the patient’s clinical history with histological imaging data, multiple immunofluorescence results, point mutations in genes of interest, alterations in DNA methylation and copy number variations of specific genes via FISH (Fluorescent In Situ Hybridisation).
