- With these contracts, Atrys collaborates with the public health systems in Chile and Spain to reduce waiting lists and boost radiological diagnostics
Atrys Health (ATRY), a global healthtech company that provides prevention, diagnosis and precision medical treatment services, pioneer in telemedicine and oncology treatment, strengthens its collaboration with the public system in Spain and Chile after being awarded three new contracts to provide diagnostic imaging services. In Spain, Atrys has been awarded two contracts to provide radiological telediagnostic services in the regions of Castilla y León and La Rioja; in Chile, the company is strengthening its presence in the public sector with a project to provide telediagnostic services for the resolution of waiting lists for outpatient care.
In the case of Castilla y León, Atrys is responsible for offering radiological telediagnosis services to the Complejo Asistencial Universitario de León, providing support in the reading and issuing of CT and MRI reports for scheduled studies. In La Rioja, in addition to these services, Atrys is in charge of reporting emergency radiological studies for the Fundación Rioja Salud.
Under these two public contracts, the company expects to perform nearly 30,000 diagnostic tests per year, which will contribute to reducing waiting lists and speeding up the delivery of reports, as well as providing early diagnosis.
Both projects are in addition to the public tenders of the Health Service of the Balearic Islands that Atrys currently has in force, including telediagnosis services at the Can Misses (Ibiza) and Mateu Orfila (Menorca) Hospitals, for which Atrys produces close to 10,000 reports a year. The company also provides reporting services at the Orihuela Hospital in Alicante and the Inca Hospital in Mallorca.
In the case of Chile, Atrys is using the experience developed in Spain in the provision of hybrid medical services, face-to-face and telemedicine, with the different health systems to reduce patient waiting lists in outpatient care.
The services that Atrys has begun to provide in Chile are the result of the work initiated in July 2022, when the Chilean Minister of Health learned about Atrys’ care models and specifically the waiting list resolution programs. From that date until today, the company has carried out various pilot programs with the Ministry of Health, the health services (geographic administrative organization), and with low, medium and high complexity hospitals, which have allowed Atrys to adapt its services to the needs of the Latin American country.
Atrys is currently finalizing a series of contracts in Chile that will enable it to serve more than 8,000 patients in the capital, Santiago de Chile, and 4,000 patients in the southern part of the country. Once this first stage has been completed, the company intends to expand its services to 24,000 patients in the medical specialties of cardiology, internal medicine, dermatology and neurology throughout the country.
Atrys currently has a bank of healthcare professionals made up of 850 specialists in different countries around the world that guarantee the provision of 24/7 remote telemedicine and telediagnosis services. A model that allows the company to perform 6.1 million online diagnoses and has made it the world’s leading telediagnosis company in the Spanish language.
For Santiago de Torres, CEO of Atrys Health, “these awards are a reflection of the direction that public healthcare systems are taking to ensure their efficiency and sustainability. Thanks to greater public-private collaboration, we can reduce care times, optimize the care resources available to respond to the high demand and improve the quality of the time spent by healthcare professionals. All this to achieve better healthcare and, therefore, better results for our patients.
