They are divided into four main subcategories: hereditary motor and sensory neuropathy, hereditary sensory neuropathy, hereditary motor neuropathy, and hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathy. Genetic studies allows the causative mutation to be determined in most cases. Early intervention is key to help minimise or overcome developmental delays in children. There are many genes that are involved in one way or another in processes involved in development.
