Con el compromiso de reforzar los servicios de diagn\u00f3stico y tratamiento oncol\u00f3gico, Atrys ha incorporado a Jos\u00e9 Antonio L\u00f3pez Mart\u00edn, onc\u00f3logo m\u00e9dico con amplia experiencia en el \u00e1mbito asistencial y de la investigaci\u00f3n, como nuevo director m\u00e9dico del \u00e1rea de Medicina de Precisi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With more than 20 years of clinical experience in university hospitals, L\u00f3pez Mart\u00edn is a specialist in Medical Oncology at the Hospital Universitario San Carlos (Madrid). He holds a PhD in Medicine from the Complutense University of Madrid and has completed postgraduate master&#8217;s degrees in Molecular Biology of Cancer at the European School of Oncology and in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at the National School of Health. Throughout his career he has held the position of assistant doctor in the Medical Oncology Service of the Hospital 12 de Octubre (Madrid) between 2007 and 2021. In this position he was responsible for the care of patients with melanoma, sarcomas or tumours refractory to standard treatments, as well as clinical and translational research in these pathologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was also one of the promoters of the creation and certification of the Early Phase Clinical Trials Unit in Oncology, and of the Translational Oncology laboratory, within the Instituto de Investigaci\u00f3n Sanitaria Hospital 12 de Octubre. In this laboratory, he co-led research projects on biomarkers and mechanisms of action and drug resistance, as well as on immuno-inflammatory responses associated with cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In parallel, Dr. L\u00f3pez Mart\u00edn has participated as a researcher in multiple clinical trials for the pharmaceutical industry, as well as in independent clinical studies, and is a visiting researcher in projects at the Bioinformatics Unit of the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO). In 2014 he co-founded the Spanish Group for Immuno-Biological Therapies in Cancer (G\u00c9TICA), of which he was president until 2021. He has also served as Medical Director of Oncology and Associate Director of Virology Strategic Development at PharmaMar.<br><br>In the educational field, he teaches on the Master&#8217;s Degree in Musculoskeletal Tumours (Universidad Europea de Madrid) and on the Master&#8217;s Degree in Bioinformatics and Data Science in Personalised Precision Medicine and Health (Escuela Nacional de Sanidad-Instituto de Salud Carlos III).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Precision Medicine area is one of the company&#8217;s strategic pillars, comprising all diagnostic activity &#8211; telemedicine, nuclear medicine, pathological and molecular anatomy &#8211; and oncology treatment &#8211; medical oncology and advanced radiotherapy.
