PAPILOMA

Rapid and highly sensitive diagnosis for Human Papilloma Virus

The aim of the project is to develop a new, low-cost, high-sensitivity and high-specificity HPV diagnostic test that allows rapid detection of the virus in the consultation in which the patient’s sample is taken, minimising dependence on specialised laboratories and specifically trained laboratory staff. This system aims to:

  • Facilitate diagnosis and medical decision-making.
  • Reduce the HPV diagnosis time to 10-15 minutes.
  • Lower the cost of the diagnostic test by up five times its current price.
  • Limit reliance on specialised laboratories.
  • Diagnose HPV in the consultation in which the patient’s sample is taken.
  • Increase the versatility of supramolecular techniques in the design of nanoscopic devices aimed at addressing the clinical needs of patients.
15

minutes would be enough to diagnose HPV
